Digital Restoration

At the Big Pixel Inc. we do digital restoration of old photographs from original prints, slides and negatives.

The original source image is scanned or photographed digitally at a high resolution.

Once the scan has been created, we use the latest software to remove dust and scratches and to restore damaged portions of the image.

The final step in the restoration process is the development of an archival inkjet print that matches the original in colour and tonality.  The finished product is not just a restoration of the original image but a print that will last for many years without fading or changing colour.

Image after repair and correction

Each of these examples of restoration and repair took about three quarters of an hour.  We would charge about $40.00 for each image (printing would be extra and the cost will vary depending on the paper and size of the final print).
